What ApplySignal does
ApplySignal is a private job search tracker. You can save job postings, manage application status and notes, store resume versions and cover letter drafts, and prioritize applications with optional AI screen-likelihood scoring. The ApplySignal: Resume-Based Job Scoring & Tracker Chrome extension helps you capture job details from supported job pages and save them to your ApplySignal account.
Data you provide in the web app
When you use ApplySignal, you may provide:
- Account email (and related authentication details)
- Resume text (resume versions you create or upload as text)
- Saved job postings and related fields
- Job status, notes, and feedback
- Optional cover letter templates and job-specific cover letter drafts
What the Chrome extension collects
On supported job pages, when you choose to save a job or otherwise use the extension, it may collect:
- Job title
- Company
- Location
- Salary (when available on the page)
- Job description
- Job URL
- Source website (for example, LinkedIn)
Collection happens only on supported job pages, and only when you choose to save a job or use the extension. The extension does not continuously scrape unrelated pages in the background.
What the extension does not collect
The extension does not collect:
- Passwords
- Emails from your inbox
- Personal messages
- Payment card numbers
- Unrelated browsing history
- Cookies from other websites for tracking
- Unrelated website content outside supported job pages
AI scoring
If AI scoring is enabled on the ApplySignal server, resume text and job posting text may be sent to the configured AI provider to generate screen-likelihood scores and short explanations. Scoring runs on the server. The Chrome extension does not store AI API keys and does not run AI scoring locally.
Extension token
To connect the extension to your account, ApplySignal issues an extension token. The extension stores that token locally in Chrome storage so it can call the ApplySignal API on your behalf. You can revoke tokens at any time from Extension settings in the web app. Only a hash of the token is stored on the server.
Limited use
We use your data only to provide ApplySignal job tracking, scoring, extension save, and related product functionality. We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for unrelated advertising.
Data sharing with service providers
We use trusted providers to operate the product:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting
- Vercel — web application hosting
- Resend and/or Supabase — transactional email delivery
- Stripe — billing, when billing is enabled
- Configured AI provider — screen-likelihood scoring, when AI scoring is enabled
These providers process data as needed to deliver the services above, under their own privacy and security terms.
Your controls
You can:
- Export your jobs from the web app
- Delete individual jobs and related records you no longer need
- Revoke extension tokens to disconnect browsers
- Contact support to request account deletion or other privacy help
